This poem is whole.

I have heard
people complaining
about writers
not writing
their whole heart,
always trying
to hide some part.
And I have seen
people trying to
explore
the unknown;
like writers
are not people,
like they are
not their own.
And I always think
why is that so after all?
So here
I’m putting
my whole heart
(with all the pieces)
in this poem
and now
This poem is whole.

Hello there, Kajal here! I started blogging in September, 2018. It was purely random as I needed a space to pour my heart and thoughts out. This place is like my safe heaven where I let my fingers and feelings run free to curate poems and to rant about things that are bothering my thoughts. My journey here has been bittersweet and wonderful at the same time. But because of all the love I receive here, I keep coming back to read and to write. You all have been great support and advicers to me and I'm really grateful. Your feedback, emails and comments keep the mermaid inside me going :)

I appreciate how you said it authentically….here’s my whole heart. The reader gets to interpret what that looks like. (to me, I’ve read several of your pieces and it looks purely seeking and curiously kind!)

With support for your heart’s journey! Christina (Oak Ridge, TN)

I love your poem due to its authenticity and because you’ve addressed a life-long issue: the truthfulness of self-expression in art. Virginia Woolf once said: “Every secret of a writer’s soul, every experience of his life, every quality of his mind is written large in his works.”
